Title: Dr. Ismail Affirms Keenness of Sudan and South Sudan to Consolidate Bilateral Relations

03:43 PM February, 15 2016 Sudanese Online Sudan News Agency-Khartoum-Sudan My Library Short URL Khartoum, Feb. 15 (SUNA)- Chairman of the branch committee of African affairs of the National Assembly's External Relations Committee, Dr. Mustafa Osman Ismail, has affirmed the determination of Sudan and South Sudan to consolidate further the relations and the cooperation between them in all fields. Dr. Ismail received in the National Assembly Monday the Ambassador of South Sudan State to Khartoum, Myan Dott Woul, and discussed ways of cementing the bilateral relations through the parliamentary coordination and consultation and issuing legislations for bolstering the between the two countries. Dr. Ismail has affirmed the importance of the exchange of visits between the Sudanese and South Sudanese parliamentarians for boosting the coordination and consultation between the two countries. He said that the separation between Sudan and South Sudan is a geographical one. Meanwhile, Ambassador Woul affirmed the desire of South Sudan government to maintain strong relations with Sudan and to push ahead the bilateral relations, in accordance with directives of the President of South Sudan, Salva Kiir. He appreciated the cooperation between the two countries in different fields, especially in the higher education field, referring to the scholarships extended by Sudan government to students of South Sudan. He called for implementation of railways and river transport linking projects for enhancing the bilateral relations and the trade exchange between the two countries.
