Sudan accuses the rebel SPLM-N of wasting time over negotiations
|
Khartoum-SudaneseOnline-The head of Sudan’s government delegation to the negotiations of the Two Areas, Ibrahim Ghandour, has accused the rebel Sudan people’s Liberation Movement-North (SPLM-N) of wasting time and trying y to introduce issues unrelated to the Blue Nile and Sothern Kordofan states for foreign and personal agenda which have increased suffering of innocent civilians in those areas At a press conference after a joint meeting with SPLM-N in Addis Ababa on Saturday, Ghandour said that that the African Union High-Level Implementation Panel (AUHIP) had requested from the two parties to answer a set of questions in the framework of negotiations between the two sides, but SPLM-N has told the African mediation that they are not ready to discuss these issues which prompted Sudan’s government delegation to ask the mediation to determine who is responsible for wasting time on issues unrelated to the subject of the negotiations, He pointed out that SPLM-N tried to involve Darfur issue in negotiations of the Two Areas ,adding that Government delegation rejected the matter and stressed that Darfur issues has a separate forum, stressing that the current negotiations are limited to the Blue Nile and Sothern Kordofan states For his part, the head of SPLM-N delegation, Yasser Arman, stated that the ruling National Congress Party (NCP) tries to control the national constitutional Conference and wants to make it a copy of the Kenana conference which will lead to nothing and fail to solve issues of Sudan, stressing that his movement is looking for real solutions and comprehensive cessation of hostilities throughout Sudan.
