 Khartoum-SudaneseOnline-Negotiations between Sudan’s Government and the Darfur armed movements under the auspices of the African Union High-Level Implementation Panel (AUHIP) kicked off on Sunday in the Ethiopian capital of Addis Ababa In the opening session, the AUHIP chairman, Thabo Mbeki, said that yesterday's meeting is a formwork through which the African Union seeks to stop the conflict throughout Sudan, including Southern Kordofan and Blue Nile states with two different approaches with one objective, expressing hope that the two parties negotiate seriously.
 Mbeki added that the call made by Sudan’s president Omer  Al-Bashir for the  national dialogue initiative had been received warmly by the international community  being called for a comprehensive dialogue with all political forces including the armed movements, stressing the importance of reaching a comprehensive solution to the problems of Sudan through dialogue.
 For his part, the head of the Sudanese government delegation, Amin Hassan Omer, stressed his Government's commitment to negotiate in order to reach a comprehensive peace in Darfur, calling on the armed movements to respond to the call  to join the peace process based on the Doha Document for Peace in Darfur (DDPD) to reach halt hostilities, comprehensive ceasefire and dialogue to find a comprehensive political frameworks.
 While the head of Sudan Liberation Movement, Minni Minnawi, confirmed that the peace process must be comprehensive to put an end to the suffering of Darfur people
 The head of Justice and Equality Movement (JEM), Gibril Ibrahim, stressed his movement's commitment to negotiate for Darfur and Sudan peace taking into account the specificity of Darfur conflict.
