Ali Osman Mohamed Taha: No crisis behind constitutional amendments
|
Khartoum-The leader in the ruling National Congress and member of the constitutional amendments emergency committee Ali Osman Mohamed Taha denied on Saturday that the current trend to make the constitutional amendments was motivated by a crisis in the party.
Speaking to the Sudanese Media Center, Taha said that there is a full consensus within the party and within the majority of the public opinion sectors on the necessity of making the amendments that include the issue of the appointment of the state’s governors.
Taha stated the committee will embark on considering the necessary amendments toward completion of the proposed amendment on the governors’ issue.
He added that his committee has listened to experts in the decentralized government. .
