South Sudanese foes agree on national unity government
|
Khartoum-he mediators of the Inter-governmental authority for Development known as IGAD announced on Tuesday that the delegations of the South Sudanese President Salva Kiir Mayardit and the rebels led by Reik Machar conducted an agreement to form an interim government for two years and a half, and to establish a federal system.
The IGAD, which plays the mediator role in the current talks in Addis Ababa, said that the structure of a national unity government has almost been agreed upon. However, the mediators said the parties have not agreed on a date to start the application of the federal system in the country.
