Central Bank of the Sudan admits difficulty in micro finance projects
|
Khartoum-Head of the micro finance unit at the Central Bank of Sudan, Badr-Eddin Abdel-Rahim, has admitted problems facing the micro finance operation in Sudan with regard to repayment, guarantees and copying of the projects. He told Alshorooq channel that all micro finance projects in the world face difficulties on the ground that it the riskiest finance. He said that despite these problems, but that does not mean the failure of the Sudanese experience in this field. However, he said that there are so many indications that prove the success of the Sudanese experience in this regard including the rise in the numbers of those who are funded by the banks and micro economic institutions from 494 in 2012 to 700 thousand in 2013. He affirmed that the International Monetary Fund has commended Sudan in its report, adding that if Sudan continues with this rhythm, it will be bright spot worldwide.
