Parliament to discuss establishment of Abu-Jabra and Niyala railway on Sunday
|
Khartoum-The head of the transport panel at the Parliament Abdalla Masar has affirmed that Sunday’s meeting will discuss arrangements of establishment of a parallel railway between “Abu-Jabra and Niyala”. The meeting is expected to be attended by speaker of the Parliament, ministers of finance and transport and governor of Bank of Sudan. Masar said in press statements that the meeting will come out with a final decision on this railway line, pointing out that the regional authority has pledged to pay 15 million dollars from the budget of Darfur development projects . He affirmed that the work is in progress to renew the guarantee letter that was issued last year. Masar said that the committee discussed last week with the ministry of finance methods of giving the contractors guarantee letter ways of payment. He said that the railways will reduce the cost of transport and activate the trade movement between Khartoum and Niyala. He blamed the ministry of finance for the delay. In the same context, Masar affirmed continuity of work on ( Alnohood-Di’ain-Niyala) road and the electricity supply line of ( Al-Fula-Niyala).
