Powerful campaigns that brought Sudanese activists together on one goal
|
Human Rights Activists, A/Aziz Khalid is free Big Congratulations to all grassroots activists who spare no efforts in putting more pressure on the Khartoum regime to take this step.
I would like to express gratitude, appreciations and thanks to those activists in Auckland, Freemont (CA); Amherst (MA); Providence (RI); Philadelphia (PA); Columbus (OH); Washington (DC); and many other towns and cities in the US and all over the world. The Human Rights Day campaign (12/10) was one of few powerful campaigns that brought Sudanese activists together on one goal. Human rights and political orgs participated in many Conference Calls to mobilize their communities to Free Khalid.
It was a great experience, we learn from it that whatever our political differences are yet, the human rights principles unite us.
Special thanks are due to the Unitarian Universalists Church of Providence (RI) who conducted special prayer on 12/12/04 to release Mr. Khalid. Also, Amnesty International in the same town adopted Mr. Khalid as one of the Prisoners of Conscience of the year, and included him in their annual write-a-thon letter campaign.
Thanks to all of you for the great work… yes, we all deserve congratulations…
