This message was sent by Om-elkhair kambal from Nashville ********************************************************* Dear all
Thank you to the sudanese community in Nashville. They were there every day and they helped alot, but the cost is too high for a community most of its members are immigrants who just arrived. ** if any one could Fwd. this post to The Sudaneseonline or other sites, it would be appreciated. Thanks, Om-elkhair kambal Mr. Pel Tor Gai (1983-2004), and his family (mother, two younger sisters and two younger brothers) migrated to Nashville from the Sudan in March 2003. He and his family lived in Millwood Apartments off Murfreesboro Road until his death on September 19, 2004. Mr. Gai was assaulted after dining at a local establishment and he subsequently died at Vanderbilt Hospital later that morning. Mr. Gai's cousin Duop, 26, also was stabbed in the same attack and is currently in stable condition at Vanderbilt. Mr. Gai's was the head of his extended household and was responsible for his family being here in Nashville. He died without any life insurance or savings and this has left the family in a devastated condition. I visited the family yesterday to find that they are in serious financial need and cannot afford Mr. Gai’s funeral and burial expenses. The burial is tentatively scheduled for Saturday the 25th, but this will depend on the family’s ability to raise up to $5,000 for funeral and burial expenses. An account was set up at Bank of America. You can help this family by making a contribution or write a check to: Account name: Pel Gai Funeral Fund Bank name: Bank of America Account number: 003788969473
