It is an occasion to remember the persisting Human Rights problems and the effort needed, on the part of each and everyone of us to make them a reality for all. 57 years ago the Universal Declaration of Human Rights was adopted recognizing the equal rights accorded to every human beeing. The principles of Human Rights are deeply rooted in the history of humankind. They can be found in the teachings of all the world's great cultural and religious traditions. States have undertaken legal obligations within framework of International Human Rights Instruments to promote and protect Human Rights for all. For the third time more than 30 Government and Non-Government Organisations in Sudan teamed up to demonstrate their solidarity with people around the world who stand up and call for the protection and promotion of Human Rights. In this spirit let us know our rights and demand that the governments protect them to realize Human Rights for all and make peace happen! _________________ This event is part of the national campaign “16 Days of Activism Against Gender Violence 2005”.
