The Darfur Alert Coalition and The Free Library of Philadelphia Present:
Lost Boys of Sudan: Documentary film and discussion Friday, December 2nd at 6pm
Free Library of Philadelphia 1901 Vine St # 111, Philadelphia, 19103 Montgomery Auditorium
Orphaned by a long-running civil war, a group of boys from Sudan journey to the United States to make new lives for themselves. Without losing focus on the crisis in Sudan, this award-winning documentary records their first year in this country.
The film will be followed by a discussion with the film¹s producer, Megan Mylan, members of the Darfur Alert Coalition, Sudanese nationals and Darfurian refugees. Philadelphia is home to thousands of Sudanese who survived the war in Southern Sudan and are now watching in horror as the world community fumbles in response to the genocide in Darfur. Join this community discussion as we listen and learn what we can do to interrupt this cycle of suffering.
The event is co-sponsored by the Darfur Alert! Coalition including Rev. Dr. James S. Allen, Pennsylvania Eastern Keystone Baptist Association, Burt Siegel, The Jewish Community Relations Council, The Free Library and local relief organizations. For more information, please call the Library at 215.686.5415 or The Darfur Alert Coalition at 610-832-7028.
