Quote: China is one-party system. Discussing this question requires some level of openness and readiness to revisit established concepts and definitions, or whatever we have learned or heard about the words of "Democracy", "Human rights", "Multi-party systems". etc, put all these concepts on the discussion and analysis table again, and subject them to study and review their current definitions. To start with, China, although it is ruled by the communist party but other smaller parties exist and legal.. Every Chinese has the right to run for president even if he or she is not a member of the communist party!! few people know these facts. At one time, the vice president of the People's Republic of China was independent and not a member of the ruling communist party. Other powerful groups also exist and are recognized... examples are the Beijing group and the Shanghai group.. it also worth mentioning that the smaller parties are represented in China's People's Congress. (CPC).. therefore it is true to state that China is a multi-party system while the United States is bi-party system (or dual-party system).. News and media reports often mention the expression bi- partisan solution is needed or has been reached, or (both isles of Congress).. this indicates that the American system is in fact a dual-party system, and not a multi-party system.. moreover, the ruling party in the United States is one at any given time, except in rare times when elections (read selections) result in equal or near equal Congress, so we can comfortably say that America is a one-party system, while at any time, all parties and civil groups are represented in the Chinese parliament. President of China is not elected. So the president of the United States! China Communist Party elects the head of state (the president).. they do not claim he was elected by the Chinese people. On the other side, the American people have the right to (select) one of two candidates already elected by the two ruling parties! President Barak Obama was effectively elected by the Democratic Party -not by the American people who had no choice but to choose one of two pre-elected candidates imposed on them by the two ruling parties, so the correct and more accurate name is "General Selections" not "General Elections"
