يظهر رئيس الوزراء الإسرائيلي، بنيامين نتنياهو، تصميمًا قويًا على القيام بكل ما يلزم لإنقاذ نفسه من المحاكمات القادمة، سواء كانت تلك المتعلقة بالفشل السياسي أو العسكري أو الاستخباراتي، وحتى الفساد المالي والإداري. ويظهر استعداده للتضحية بكل شيء، بما في ذلك إشعال الصراعات في جنوب لبنان، وحتى إشراك إيران إذا لزم الأمر.
وفي تحدٍ لتحفظات الحكومة الأمريكية، يحاول نتنياهو بقوة إثارة التوترات في جنوب لبنان بشكل يفوق الحدود المتفق عليها بشكل متبادل والتي تم وضعها في أعقاب عملية عام 2006 بين حزب الله وتل أبيب، وهو ما تجسده الأحداث الأخيرة بشكل واضح ، والتي تمثلت في مقتل قائد حزب الله وسام الطويل واغتيال الزعيم الفلسطيني صالح العاروري في معقل المنظمة، تظهر محاولات نتنياهو المحسوبة تحرضيه الكامل ومحاولته لاستدراج حزب الله في صراع ممتد في جنوب لبنان. فهو يريد استعادة الدعم الذي كان يحظى به من الغرب والولايات المتحدة.
وعلى الرغم من عدم وجود اتفاق رسمي بين طهران وواشنطن لتجنب المواجهات العسكرية المباشرة خلال أزمة السابع من أكتوبر، إلا أن فشل رئيس الوزراء الإسرائيلي بنيامين نتنياهو في تحقيق مكاسب ملموسة في غزة زاد من الضغط عليه داخليًا من قبل أعضاء الحكومة وعائلات الأسرى الإسرائيليين. بالإضافة إلى ذلك، شهد الدعم الخارجي تراجعًا، حيث بدأ الذين كانوا يدعمونه من الولايات المتحدة وأوروبا في التراجع. هذا الوضع أتى كصدمة لنتنياهو، مما دفعه إلى النظر في استخدام تكتيكاته المعتادة بفتح جبهات متعددة في محاولة لإحراج جميع الأطراف المعنية، خاصة مع استعراض الرئيس جو بايدن لمواقفه السياسية قبيل الانتخابات الرئاسية.
إن استمرار رئيس الوزراء بنيامين نتنياهو في تأجيج النزاعات في جنوب لبنان يمثل تحركاً سياسياً وعسكرياً محسوباً لإحداث تغيير جذري في البيئة الأمنية على طول الحدود الشمالية لإسرائيل. انتقل أكثر من 100.000 مستوطن من القرى والمستوطنات إلى إسرائيل كجزء من جهود الحكومة لتنفيذ قرار مجلس الأمن رقم 1701، الذي تم تبنيه في عام 2006. ويطالب هذا القرار بإنشاء منطقة عازلة خالية من الأسلحة في جنوب لبنان، بين الحدود ونهر الليطاني.
والهدف هو منح حزب الله السلطة الدولية والقانونية للتحرك في جنوب لبنان دون استخدام الجيش الوطني اللبناني. ويرى نتنياهو في هذا الإجراء وسيلة للضغط على حماس من خلال حسن نصر الله، زعيم حزب الله، ولتمكين العودة الآمنة للمستوطنين. والهدف هو ضمان إطلاق سراح الرهائن الإسرائيليين في قطاع غزة والرد بقوة على محاولات التوصل إلى هدنة.
لقد وضعت عمليات القتل المتسلسلة لنتنياهو حزب الله وأمينه العام حسن نصر الله في وضع محفوف بالمخاطر حيث يتعين عليهما اللجوء إلى العمل العسكري. ومن خلال استهداف أحد أعضاء حماس، منعت عملية الاغتيال الأولى الجماعة من تصعيد القتال. لكن لم يكن هناك سبب للتحلي بالصبر عندما وقع أحد قادة حزب الله الجنوبيين ضحية عملية الاغتيال الثانية. ويبدو اليوم أن الصراع العسكري أمر لا مفر منه.
وفي ظل تهديدات حسن نصر الله التي تستهدف مواطني شمال إسرائيل في حالة نشوب صراع ضخم، و تعهده بالانتقام لاغتيال نائب رئيس حماس، صالح العاروري، في بيروت، يتفاقم الوضع الحساس في المنطقة. تتسارع المخاوف من انتقال الأزمة إلى العراق وسوريا والبحر الأحمر، وسط تصاعد الأحداث بشكل لافت. وفي هذا السياق، يزيد اتساع حلقة عدم اليقين حول المستقبل، خاصة في قطاع غزة، حيث تتواصل العمليات العسكرية دون أي نهاية واضحة في الأفق. ورغم الزيارات والمناقشات التي يجريها مسؤولون غربيون وأمريكيون، يظل الوضع محط قلق ومصير مجهول.

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu is showing a strong determination to do whatever it takes to save himself from upcoming trials, whether related to political, military or intelligence failure, and even financial and administrative corruption. He shows his willingness to sacrifice everything, including igniting conflicts in southern Lebanon, and even engaging Iran if necessary.
In defiance of the US government's reservations, Netanyahu is aggressively trying to raise tensions in southern Lebanon beyond the mutually agreed upon limits that were established following the 2006 operation between Hezbollah and Tel Aviv, as clearly exemplified by the recent events, which were represented by the killing of the Hezbollah commander. Wissam Al-Taweel and the assassination of Palestinian leader Saleh Al-Arouri in the organization’s stronghold. Netanyahu’s calculated attempts show his complete incitement and his attempt to lure Hezbollah into a prolonged conflict in southern Lebanon. He wants to regain the support he had from the West and the United States.
Although there was no formal agreement between Tehran and Washington to avoid direct military confrontations during the October 7 crisis, the failure of Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu to achieve tangible gains in Gaza increased pressure on him internally from members of the government and families of Israeli prisoners. In addition, external support saw a decline, as those who supported him from the United States and Europe began to retreat. This situation came as a shock to Netanyahu, prompting him to consider using his usual tactics of opening multiple fronts in an attempt to embarrass all parties concerned, especially with President Joe Biden reviewing his political positions ahead of the presidential elections.
Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's continued fueling of conflicts in southern Lebanon represents a political and military move calculated to fundamentally change the security environment along Israel's northern border. More than 100,000 settlers have moved from villages and settlements to Israel as part of the government's efforts to implement Security Council Resolution 1701, adopted in 2006. This resolution calls for the establishment of a weapons-free buffer zone in southern Lebanon, between the border and the Litani River.
The goal is to give Hezbollah the international and legal authority to move in southern Lebanon without using the Lebanese National Army. Netanyahu sees this measure as a way to put pressure on Hamas through Hassan Nasrallah, the leader of Hezbollah, and to enable the safe return of settlers. The goal is to secure the release of Israeli hostages in the Gaza Strip and to respond forcefully to attempts to reach a truce.
Netanyahu's serial killings have put Hezbollah and its Secretary-General Hassan Nasrallah in a perilous position where they must resort to military action. By targeting a Hamas member, the first assassination prevented the group from escalating the fighting. But there was no reason to be patient when a southern Hezbollah leader fell victim to the second assassination. Today it seems that military conflict is inevitable.
In light of Hassan Nasrallah's threats targeting the citizens of northern Israel in the event of a massive conflict, and his pledge to avenge the assassination of Hamas Vice President, Saleh Al-Arouri, in Beirut, the sensitive situation in the region is exacerbated. Fears are accelerating that the crisis will spread to Iraq, Syria, and the Red Sea, amid a remarkable escalation of events. In this context, the circle of uncertainty about the future is widening, especially in the Gaza Strip, where military operations continue without any clear end in sight. Despite visits and discussions by Western and American officials, the situation remains a source of concern and an unknown fate.
