كانت حقول الغاز في منطقة الدلتا في مصر منذ فترة طويلة عنصرا حيويا في قطاع الطاقة في البلاد، حيث تلعب دورا حاسما في تلبية الطلب المحلي ودعم النمو الاقتصادي. ومع ذلك، فإن استكشاف وإنتاج الغاز الطبيعي في هذه المنطقة واجه تحديات وقيود مختلفة. ومن حسن الحظ أن شركات التنقيب الأجنبية تدخلت، وجلبت معها التكنولوجيات المتقدمة والخبرة وفرص الاستثمار التي توفر دفعة مطلوبة بشدة لصناعة الغاز في مصر. لم توفر حقول غاز الدلتا مصدرًا موثوقًا للطاقة لمصر فحسب، بل ساهمت أيضًا بشكل كبير في إيرادات البلاد من خلال صادرات الغاز. وقد لعبت هذه الحقول دورًا أساسيًا في الحفاظ على مكانة مصر كلاعب رئيسي في سوق الغاز العالمي وضمان أمن الطاقة للدولة.
وفي هذا الصدد استعرض الدكتور مجدي جلال العضو المنتدب التنفيذي لشركة إيجاس، أبرز إنجازات أنشطة الغاز الطبيعي في مصر خلال العام المالي 2022-2023. وأضاف أنه تم إطلاق المزايدة العالمية لعام 2022 للبحث عن الغاز الطبيعي في 1122 قطاعاً، منها 6 قطاعات في البحر. ومؤخراً تم الانتهاء من متوسط ست مناطق في دلتا النيل، وتم الانتهاء من مراجعة كافة العروض.
كما ذكر أن إجراءات إصدار 11 اتفاقية للبحث عن الغاز في مصر مستمرة، حيث تم توقيع 9 اتفاقيات وإصدار قوانين اتفاقيتين. وأشار إلى أنه تم تنفيذ المسح الزلزالي ثلاثي الأبعاد، وأن إجمالي منح التوقيع على الاتفاقيات يبلغ نحو 30 مليون دولار، وبإجمالي استثمارات 925 مليون دولار. ويجري حالياً تنفيذ مسح زلزالي إقليمي ثلاثي الأبعاد في غرب البحر الأبيض المتوسط لمساحة 10500 كيلومتر مربع، بمساحة 4000 كيلومتر مربع في منطقتي التزام نور وشمال رفح البحريتين ومنطقة التزام النرجس البحرية.
وذكر أن الدولة تعمل منذ 2014 على تطوير صناعة تكرير البترول، ضمن خارطة طريق وتتطوير شاملة، لمصافي التكرير في السويس، والتي تم وضع حجر الأساس لأحد أكبر المشروعات بها في أكتوبر 2021، وهو مشروع مجمع التفحيم وإنتاج السولار بمصفاة تكرير السويس لتصنيع البترول، وفي إطار تعظيم الاستفادة من المجمع، استقبل ميناء الأدبية بمحافظة السويس سفينتي المثلات إم آي سي كيه "MICK" وكونغ كيو سونغ "KONG QUE SONG"، وعلى متنهما 121 طردا للمجمع الجديد الذي ينفذ في السويس.

Gas fields in Egypt's Delta region have long been a vital component of the country's energy sector, playing a crucial role in meeting domestic demand and supporting economic growth. However, the exploration and production of natural gas in this region has faced various challenges and constraints. Fortunately, foreign exploration companies intervened, bringing with them advanced technologies, expertise and investment opportunities that provide a much-needed boost to Egypt's gas industry. Delta gas fields not only provided a reliable energy source for Egypt, but also contributed significantly to the country's revenues through gas exports. These fields have played an essential role in maintaining Egypt's position as a major player in the global gas market and ensuring the country's energy security.
In this regard, Dr. Magdy Galal, Executive Managing Director of EGAS, reviewed the most prominent achievements of natural gas activities in Egypt during the fiscal year 2022-2023. He added that the global tender for 2022 to search for natural gas was launched in 1,122 sectors, including 6 sectors in the offshore. Recently, the average of six areas in the Nile Delta has been completed, and a review of all offers has been completed.
He also mentioned that the procedures for issuing 11 agreements to search for gas in Egypt are ongoing, as 9 agreements have been signed and two agreements have been issued. He pointed out that the three-dimensional seismic survey has been carried out, and that the total grants for signing the agreements are about $ 30 million, with a total investment of $ 925 million. A three-dimensional regional seismic survey is currently being carried out in the Western Mediterranean for an area of 10,500 square kilometers, covering an area of 4,000 square kilometers, in the maritime areas of I'zam Nur and North Rafah and the I'zam Narges marine area.

He stated that the state has been working since 2014 to develop the oil refining industry, within a comprehensive roadmap and development, for refineries in Suez, which was laid the foundation stone for one of the largest projects in October 2021, which is the project of the coking complex and diesel production at the Suez refinery for the manufacture of petroleum, and within the framework of maximizing the benefit of the complex, the port of Adabiya in Suez Governorate received the ships of the MIC AND KONG QUE SONG, with 121 parcels for the new complex that Implemented in Suez.
