    تناولت في موضوعات سابقة تاريخ غرب السودان القديم وأوضحت أنني أقصد بغرب السودان كل مناطق غرب النيل من حدود السودان شمالاً وحتى حدوده جنوباً. وفي هذه الحلقات الأخيرة تناولت التاريخ القديم لمنطقة ما بين النيل والبحر الأحمر. والغرض من ذلك إبراز تاريخ هذه المناطق – شرق وغرب النيل – في تاريخ السودان القديم قبل قيام دولة كوش في منصف الألف الثالث قبل الميلاد.
    وقد اتضح أن لهذه المناطق دورها الفعال المؤسِّس لتاريخ السودان القديم قبل قيام دولة كوش. من الواضح جداً أننا نركز في دراستنا لتاريخ السودان القديم من بداية قيام دولة كوش على النيل، ونتناول ما قبل ذلك باقتضاب وكأنه لا صلة له بتأسيس وتطور تاريخنا القديم.
    ومن خلال كتابتي للمقدمات عن تاريخ غرب وشرق النيل القديم السابق لقيام دولة كوش وجدت عدداً من المراجع أريد أن أشارك بها القراء والباحثين الكرام علها تساعد في دراسة تلك المرحلة المهمة في تاريخنا القديم. وأغلب هذه المراجع تعتبر مصادر مباشرة لأنها اعتمدت على نتائج كشوفات أثرية أو نتائج أبحاث معملية.
