I am writing as a concern citizen of this Republic and as a voter in this country, who can vote either in your favor or against you should you vie for our State Governorship or Presidency of our hard-worn and beloved Republic should you choose to enter politics after the end of your military career in the future. I am thus using these horizontal relations to reach you and voice my concern. General James, I have watched with concerns the deteriorating security and political situation in Juba and the looming tensions going on in many parts of our country following the clashes of Presidential Guards Units of SPLA in the late hours of Sunday, 15th December, 2013. Based on my analysis on the situation as it stands right now on the ground it is indeed taking a very wrong turn and can no longer be treated as a clash between the soldiers of an army (SPLA) Unit triggered by political difference between two groups of one political Party (SPLM). Unfortunately, it is rather taking an ethnic dimension, making it ugly indeed to be a concern to many people including myself. General James, the administration you are a Chief of General Staff of is pulling and framing it to be a rivalry over power between the two tribes in order for the regime to win back the eroded trust through ethnic affiliations by reshaping the reality to fit as Nuer-Dinka power struggle. Worst indeed is the killing of innocent Nuer who are being pulled out of their homes and got killed while you are helplessly watching. Gen. James, the attack on former Governor of Lakes Engineer Chol Tong Mayay and what befell one of your best friends Gier Chuang Aluong on the notion that they have betrayed Dinka cause clearly justifies my claims that the regime has ill-intentions. Gen. James, this is exactly what happened to moderate Hutu and Hutu nationalists in Rwanda Genocide in 1994 and one would not be wrong at this point in time to conclude that the regime you are serving as a Chief of General staff of its military has an intention to wipe off a certain group or a tribe. Gen. James, viewing Dr. Riek Machar’s intentions to ascend to the top leadership of the Party or to lead our country as a threat to Dinka rule is a very unhealthy thinking that only a narrow person can call for. In this country we have over 60(sixty) tribes and every daughter or son from every tribes of this country with qualifications has a right to rule. President Salva is not a Dinka President nor will he be the last Dinka to rule in this country. Thus viewing his presidency as a property of Dinka especially by people from his home yard is a very narrow thinking that takes this country nowhere and should not be allowed. General James, if the current security and political situation is not controlled and the ongoing indiscriminate killing of Nuer is not stopped, I am afraid there will be a time political loyalty to certain group across the SPLM political divide will be insignificant and you as a member of Nuer community will not be immune against the attacks of these marauding Gel-weng militia.
