The Africa Program cordially invites you to a panel discussion with a delegation of the Southern Peoples' Liberation Movement, "The Future of Northern Sudan: An SPLM – North Sudan View" which will be held next Wednesday, March 23 at 9am. Sudan will face multiple challenges after secession of the South in July. They include loss of revenue, relations with the new Southern neighbor, and the political future of the three areas – Blue Nile, South Kordofan and Abyei – which pose serious problems for Khartoum. The speakers will explore these issues and their implications for the SPLM in the North.
This event will feature Malik Agar Eyre, Governor of the Blue Nile State, Abdel Aziz Adam EI Hilu, Deputy Governor of Southern Kordofan, and Yasir Said Arman, Secretary General of the SPLM-North Sudan and be moderated by Sudan Working Group co-Chair Alan Goulty.
The discussion will take place in the 6th floor auditorium on Wednesday, March 23 from 9-11am.
