The major challenge which faces transitional regime, is the urgent necessity to approach a peace agreement with rebel factions, in the three well known regions , Darfour , Nuba mountains and south blue nile state, hence the so called declaration of principles which has been signed in Juba, the capital of south Sudan , is welcomed by Sudanese people and opened a wide door of hope , although one of the most prominent armed movement representatives have not attended the negotiations which was concluded by principles declaration , that armed movement is Sudan liberation movement led by Abdulwahid Mohammed Noor , a man who is firmly grabbing on the rights of his supporters, displaced people and the refugees who escaped civil war in Darfour.
In recent Sudan history, civil wars have interrupted the economic and social development of the country, for more than six decades all the regimes who came into power did fail to restore peace and stability, and according to that people’s sufferings have horribly increased, it is axiomatic that struggle of power always has it’s worse effective impact in rapid spread of poverty and high levels of epidemics breakout, in most African countries sharing the same circumstances of Sudan.
Following the fall down of Omer Al-Bashir regime, the transitional government has taken a very serious step, in order to reach a (real) peace reconciliation with all armed movements, we say (real) because when we come across the term (Peace in Sudan), immediately we recall all the previous (unreal) peace agreements those sponsored by the regime of Omer Al-Bashir , the agreements which collided with walls of bad intentions and lack of real wills.
The main reason which lets us be more optimistic about the capability of this current transitional regime to succeed in this regard, and encourages us feel hopeful that it will accomplish the mission of bringing peace to the ground of reality, and saves our victimized Sudan, is the observed awareness of the leaders of this transitional stage and their economical vision which they declared earlier, and as a matter of fact no economy can be recovered in any country while civil war is bursting out.
As an African country Sudan is strongly affected by its neighbors, and Sudanese intellectuals are keen to compare their shining and glorious past with the current miserable political situation, when they do so the fire of jealousy burns and melts their hearts, seeing Rwanda in a modern model with advanced progress, especially the attractive infrastructure of the Rwandese lovable capital city Kigali, the same country that recovered from civil war disaster just few years back, achieving a successful schemes of developments that deleted the ghostly image of massacre from the minds of global citizens ,who experienced a dreadful memories when they used to hear the word (Rwanda).
In general, the political change which took place in countries such as Rwanda, Ethiopia, Tanzania and Sudan is a decision taken by modern the generation, that’s why the gap of generations has made the difference and a miracle had happened in these African countries. We still remember the one day rally of Ethiopian people, when they removed their prime minister Hailemariam Desalegn democratically, the demonstration rally of the same kind as Sudanese protesters gatherings which put an end to Omer Al-Bashir power.
The route to a comprehensive peace in Sudan passes through the doors of great wills, and must be based upon strong determinations from both sides, in addition, fears of distrust should be removed from hearts and minds, for the sake of youth and young generation who deserve a good life of prosperity and welfare.
