When Falsehood Speaks the Language of Threat and Insult: A Response to the Tools of Intellectual Terror and the Voices of Destruction!!

    Mohamed Yousif
    [email protected]

In this ongoing war since mid-April 2023, values collapse and facts blur, and the faces of darkness rise to the surface, speaking in filthy language and hiding behind threats and insults, as if they believe that threats and insults are weapons and that stupidity is a logic. But the fixed truth is that every threat and every obscene word uttered by these fools offends only its speaker and strikes only their putrid project that feeds on lies, hypocrisy, threats, and intimidation.
Two days ago I wrote an article entitled “Facing the Machine of Violence: A Story of Resilience in the Face of Violence and Threats,” in which I dealt with the tragedy of my activist friend (A.M.A.), who is subjected to a horrendous campaign of threats targeting his life and his family because of his principled stance against the war and violations. The article was a call for human solidarity and a message against hatred and intellectual terrorism, but what I received after publishing it was another message that reveals the mettle of those standing behind the real devastation in Sudan.
I received an email containing obscene and depraved language from a person or entity calling itself (Marry Nord) [email protected]; they attacked me, insulted me, and unleashed a vulgar tongue that exposes the level of awareness and moral degradation reached by these groups that hide behind religious or nationalist slogans to justify their crimes.
I do not know the reason for the attack I suffered because of what I wrote about my friend (A.M.A.), and whether my words included anything that offends any of the warring groups in Sudan, particularly some groups associated with the Islamist current.
    The answer is certainly: no.
Anyone who reads what I wrote will find that it is nothing more than sincere human words, written out of compassion and in solidarity with a friend who faces serious and direct threats from multiple parties; it is a narrative anyone with a conscience could have written or could stand by in defense of someone exposed to injustice and danger. Yet this attack against me clearly confirms that the party or person behind it knows my friend well and is likely part of the criminal terrorist network that previously attacked and assaulted him, and which still to this day sends him and his family messages of threat and abuse.
We know this language well; it is not the language of critique, but the language of hired apparatuses - the language of electronic brigades born from the womb of blood, corruption, and sedition, to muzzle mouths and terrorize the free. This is the same mentality that burned villages, assassinated journalists and activists, violated women, and displaced millions. These are schools of oppression and terror that nurtured extremism in the name of religion, sanctioned killing in the name of nationalism, and looted in the name of Sharia.
What reached me of threats and insults is only an extension of what happens daily to every voice that rejects the war and calls for peace. These people cannot tolerate the truth, because the truth unmasks them, exposes their projects, and strips away the cover from their crimes against humanity.
He who sends a message filled with threats and insults does not want dialogue; he wants to silence the truth - just as his comrades with weapons do when they muzzle the barrel of a rifle in the face of an unarmed civilian. But we say it aloud: (we are not afraid, we will not be silenced, and we will not retreat).
This message is not merely passing insults from an anonymous account; it is a glaring digital fingerprint that reveals the mentality of terrorism and thuggery behind it, and confirms that those who commit violence in the field are the same who practice vulgarity in the digital space.
Attempting to link the defense of humanity to fabricated “phobias” like “Kizanophobia” or “Islamophobia” is nothing but a cheap political trick aimed at distorting facts and justifying terrorism. Our cause is not against a political or religious faction, but against crime, killing, and threats whatever their source or slogan - for whoever kills innocents and threatens activists does not represent a religion or a nation, but himself as a criminal, a terrorist, and an enemy of humanity.
After the message I received, I fully understood the reason my friend (A.M.A.) refuses to write about what he faces and refuses to let others write about it. He was right when he told me, “I do not want to write about these threats, nor do I want anyone to write about me or them, and I have confided what happened only to a limited number of close friends. Even my wife, who was also subjected to threats, I did not inform of most details because I do not want fear and terror to dominate her life, and I believe that writing about these threats or revealing the details of the attack that I and my family were subjected to may lead to greater repercussions, especially in an environment awash with lies, deception, and hypocrisy, even from some whom we consider close.”
I was not convinced by his reasons and argued with him about the need to expose them, but today I fully realize that my friend’s refusal to speak about what he faces was not born of fear of these groups, but of deep awareness of the danger of an environment where falsehood and hypocrisy mix with the claim of truth. Nevertheless, we believe that silence is no longer a viable option, nor an acceptable luxury in an era in which truth is attacked and the free word is besieged.
These groups that attempt to terrorize people via emails, websites, and social media platforms are the same that carried out killings, rapes, and looting in all Sudanese cities, and they are the ones responsible for the deaths of tens of thousands and the displacement of millions. They have violated all international charters and treaties and are implicated in crimes that amount to crimes against humanity, and they will be held accountable one day no matter how long it takes.
I say to all you cowards, and specifically to the author of the anonymous message: we do not fear those who hide behind a screen, because we have faced far worse - we have faced bullets, bombs, prisons, and assassinations, and the threats and insults you send from behind assumed names will not silence a voice born from the womb of tragedy to speak the truth.
Every obscene letter you write is additional evidence of your impotence, and every threat you make is an explicit admission that our word is stronger than your rifles.
We do not respond with insults, but with facts.
We do not fight with hatred, but with the free word.
We do not fear your darkness, for we carry the purity of the homeland within us.
This organized campaign against independent voices reveals that there is a system of electronic and media terrorism led by Islamist networks and some armed militias, seeking to smear those who reject the war and attacking anyone who calls for peace and accountability, in a desperate attempt to intimidate activists and writers. But history shows no mercy, justice does not die, and the conscience of peoples cannot be bought.
We, the children of free Sudan, will not bow to a criminal, a killer, or a merchant of religion.
The voice of truth will remain louder than the sounds of threats and insults.
I say to the author of the message and to everyone who thinks that threat and insult are weapons: you represent the past that history has expelled, and we represent the future that free will will forge.
Write whatever threats and abuses you wish; a word spoken from a free conscience cannot be killed by a bullet, nor shaken by a threat or an insult.
