Liberation of El-Fashir: The End of the Siege and the Beginning of the (TASIS ) Foundational State

    Dr. Ahmed El-Tigani Sidahmed

“The restoration of the revolution cannot come through its repetition, but through correcting its path… Enough generations have written and darkened! Believe me, we live in a time when the faint light has itself become the darkness.”

    1. From the Heart of the Siege to the Dawn of Liberation
After long and grueling months of siege, the Rapid Support Forces (RSF) inscribed a new epic in the city of El-Fashir, the historical capital of Darfur, which had remained the last stronghold of the Islamist army and remnants of the old regime. The siege was prolonged and severe: RSF forces surrounded the city from all directions while the Sixth Division Command used civilians as human shields and blocked humanitarian access in blatant violation of international law.

Throughout these months, the people of El-Fashir suffered from hunger, disease, and the collapse of water and medical supplies, as Islamist militias fortified themselves among civilians, closed hospitals, and seized aid deliveries. But the patience of the people was not in vain. The popular will of the marginalized regions converged with the RSF’s determination to break the siege without harming civilians, until the decisive moment arrived.

    2. The Collapse of the Army and Its Joint Militias
On October 26, 2025, the entire Sixth Division collapsed after days of fierce fighting. Heavy military equipment was destroyed, and the defensive lines once considered the final fortress of the Islamist army fell. The so‑called unified army was no more, and the coalition of remnants and joint militias—comprising elements of the National Intelligence Service, mercenary groups, and hired movements—failed to withstand the broad popular alliance that rallied around the Founding Project.

With the liberation of El-Fashir, the Islamist military machine effectively lost its ability to maneuver in the west. The age of centralized oppression has ended, and the voice of the marginalized now writes the equation of the new state.

    3. Releasing the Captives and Protecting Civilians
Following liberation, RSF forces released hundreds of civilians and underage conscripts who had been detained inside military compounds and forced to fight under the orders of extremist militias. They were treated with a spirit of national responsibility and in accordance with humanitarian law. Food, medical care, and shelter were provided — a rare scene in Sudan’s wars. Through this humane conduct, the RSF proved that the battle was not one of revenge, but of liberation — for both homeland and human dignity.

    4. El-Fashir… Symbol of National Transformation
The fall of El-Fashir is not merely the fall of a city; it is the fall of an entire era — an era of arrogance and domination that destroyed Sudan since the Islamist coup of 1989. El-Fashir was the stage of the final confrontation between the army of tyranny and the will of the people. Today, it announces the birth of the Foundational State — a state shared by all regions, where the army is rebuilt on professional, national grounds with no room for blind allegiance.

This victory is a just retribution for the martyrs of Darfur, Kajbar, and the General Command, and a clear message to anyone still dreaming of restoring tyranny in the name of religion or tribe: the new Sudan has been born, and it will never go back.

    5. Toward a New Sudan
The liberation of El-Fashir marks the beginning of a true era of reconstruction and peace. The RSF has confirmed its coordination with the Founding Government of Sudan to ensure the protection of civilians, facilitate the return of displaced families, and provide essential humanitarian needs. This is the battle for democracy — fought not only with weapons, but with conscience, intellect, and the courage to transcend the pains of the past toward a free, just, and reconciled nation.

Glory to the martyrs of the revolution, honor to the heroes of freedom, and victory to the Sudan of justice and citizenship.
