Quote: Employees Abducted in Sudan
On Tuesday, October 23rd, at approximately 11:00 am local time, armed assailants stopped a convoy of vehicles traveling from a drilling location 100 km west of Heglig, Sudan. Five oilfield workers were abducted, among whom are three Schlumberger employees including one Egyptian, one Iraqi and one Sudanese.
Securing our employees' safe return is our top priority and we are working with all relevant authorities to resolve the situation as quickly as possible. We believe that it is not in the interests of their families or the safety of our employees to release further details about this event at this time. In view of the changing security situation in Sudan we are currently in the process of examining in detail all security procedures relating to our operations. |
Good day dear Wasil , The quote above is the official E-Mail sent by Schlumberger OverseasCo. Managemet to it's employees updating them with the sitiuation on the ground>
Regards
Ayman
