On Monday 16 January The Council, a body to which all Sudanese political parties and civil society organizations were invited to take part, organized a picket in front of The Egyptian Embassy in London and The Office of The United Nations High Commissioner For Refugees to protest against the massacre. On both occasions a memorandum on the subject addressed to The High Commissioner For Refugees, was delivered to representatives of the Commission and the Embassy. A hard copy of the Memorandum was sent to The Sudanese Embassy. On the same day a delegation from The Council, in which women and The South were represented, visited the seat of the British Government in No 10 Downing Street to deliver a copy of the memorandum. The Council is in constant contact with similar organizations inside and outside The Uk in pursuance of the campaign.
