Khartoum, Nov. 7 (SUNA) - Sudan and India have affirmed their keenness on boosting and consolidating their relations in the various domains, particularly in economic, investment and development cooperation. The Indian side expressed its desire to invest in Sudan in infrastructure, energy, technology and agricultural production. This came when the two sides held talks at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Monday, co-chaired by State Minister at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Ali Ahmed Karti and his Indian counterpart. Karti stressed the deep-rooted and strong relations between Sudan and India, which was reflected by exchange of visits at the highest levels. Karti expressed thanks towards Indian investment in Sudan, particularly in the field of oil, calling for more cooperation in these domains. The Minister pointed out that President Al-Bashir will visit India shortly, calling for activation of the signed agreements between the two countries, and convening the joint ministerial committees meeting soon. On his part, the Indian State Minister affirmed his country's support to Sudan and its readiness to support peace in Sudan and participation in the rehabilitation process. Meanwhile, the Spokesman of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ambassador Jamal Mohamed Ibrahim, said that technical committees emanated from the talks for studying specific projects in the fields of railways, transport, aviation, building airports and energy.
