Al-Fashir, Nov. 19 (SUNA) - In support of the initiative of the African Union and the government of the United States of America to unify ranks of the rebel Sudan Liberation Movement (SLM) in Darfur and in the most advanced step to solve Darfur issue through the seventh session of Abuja peace talks, the government authorities in North Darfur State Saturday permitted holding joint meeting between the two leaders of SLM with the African Union mission and a US delegation headed by Assistant Secretary of State for African Affairs Jendayi Frazer, who is currently on a visit to Sudan. A senior security source in North Darfur State explained to SUNA that Abdel-Wahid Mohamed Nur arrived in Al-Fashir town Saturday afternoon by a helicopter of the African Union coming from Derbat area. The other leader, Arko Menawi, arrived from Mehajreyah area on board a similar plane of the African Union. The two planes landed at Al-Fashir Airport and were received by officials of the African Union. The government authorities assumed provision of the necessary security protection to the two delegations from the airport till the premises of the African Union mission, where a closed meeting was held that lasted for more than three hours.
