"As we celebrate our fifth anniversary in tracking and recovering stolen vehicles to the EA region, we will widen our area of coverage to Sudan, Rwanda, and Burundi," Mr Titus Tuitoek, the Country Manager Tracker (U) Ltd, said.
He was speaking during celebrations to mark the company's fifth anniversary in Ugandan at their headquarters in Muyenga.
Tracker Ltd is a subsidiary of Cartrack, the leading post-theft vehicle recovery in the world and is part of the Lojack International Network based in USA covering over 25 countries.
Tuitoek said the Uganda Police invited them to Uganda in 2000, from their regional offices in Nairobi, Kenya.
Cartrack fits a small transponder in the client's vehicle, which emits unique signals upon activation indicating to the control offices its location, which in turn leads to the recovery of the stolen vehicle.
The company has managed to recover over 530 stolen vehicles worth $18 billion (Shs32 trillion) within the EA region in a period of ten years.
Their recovery network at the cross border team is alert all the time along the EA region and all leading insurance companies give discounts to clients whose vehicles have the car track device on comprehensive Insurance premium.
