Iranian Geological Survey delegation to visit Sudan on Saturday


Khartoum, Feb. 3 (SUNA) A delegation of the General Survey Authority of the Islamic Republic of Iran, headed by Mahmoud Alikhan, the General Director is due to arrive in Khartoum Saturday


The four-day visit comes in the framework of the joint cooperation between the two countries


The Iranian delegation will meet with the General Director of the Survey and visit a number of archaeological and tourist sites in Sudan


The visit aims to review, through meetings between the two parties in the coming days, a proposal of the executive program of the memorandum of understanding in the field of survey and geographical information signed between the two parties last January in Tehran,besides the signing of the executive program of the Memorandum of Understanding, which is due to come into force after its signing directly on Monday, February 7 at in the premises of the Sudan General Survey Authority, in the presence of the Minister of Environment and Forests and Urban Development ,Joseph Malwal Dong, and a number of senior officials in the field of survey


It is to be noted that the memorandum of understanding contains nine items and aims to enhance the cooperation and the exchange experiences and the transfer technology between the two countries through holding training and rehabilitation session, blostering the cooperation and establishment of water survey stations


The memorandum of understanding also includes providing machineries and modern equipment and technical means from Iranian Survey Authority and opening the door for Iranian companies to invest in the field of survey in Sudan
