Interior Minister Affirms his Ministry's Keenness to Extend Security and Stability in Darfur States
Khartoum, Oct. 14 (SUNA) - The Minister of Interior, Engineer Ibrahim Mahmoud Hamid, has reiterated his ministry's keenness to expand security and stability in Darfur states, besides safeguarding cities, villages and displaced people camps
He asserted the continuity of work in the collection of guns and bringing the outlaws to justice
In a meeting with Deputy Chairman of the United Nations and African Union Mission in Darfur (UNAMID), Mohamed Younis, the Interior Minister called for more cooperation and coordination from the UNAMID side as well as support to the process of securing the UNAMID staff and the international organizations in the region
Meanwhile, the Director General of the Police Forces, Gen. Police Hashim Osman, stressed the importance of securing to the UNAMID and its premises, explaining that the security process is one of the Sudanese Police Forces' duties as provided in by the agreement between the government and the United Nations
He called for more cooperation with the UNAMID mission for the expansion of security and stability in Darfur states
