Holidaying policeman guns down Sudanese mechanic

AL-QUNFUDHA: A Saudi policeman has been arrested for the killing on Sunday of a Sudanese man who worked as a mechanic in the rural village of Tahlatha Beni Issa in north east Al-Qunfudha.
Eyewitnesses said that the gunman parked his car at a local market at around 10 A.M. and emerged carrying a pistol and heading for the mechanic’s workshop. As the Sudanese man came out to respond to his visitor the Saudi shot him dead and fled.
Passers-by rushed the man to hospital, but he died on the way. A spokesman from Al-Qunfudha General Hospital said the victim was in his 50s and died from a single bullet to the abdomen.
Police said a suspect had been held for questioning. Sources described him as a policeman employed in Riyadh who was in the Al-Qunfudha area on a family holiday. Police reportedly located his whereabouts after receiving information from the father of the suspect.
