Council of Ministers Approves National Traffic Safety Strategy
Khartoum, Feb. 17 (SUNA)- The Council of Ministers, chaired by the Vice - President of the Republic, Ali Osman Mohamed Taha, approved in its regular meeting Thursday the national safety traffic strategy which will be implemented at the cost of 215 million pounds
In a press statement after the meeting, the spokesman of the Council of Ministers, Dr. Omer Mohamed Salih, said that the strategy aims to adopting the plans, programmes and procedure for reducing the traffic accidents , establishment of secure roads in accordance with the international standards, adopting modern traffic surveillance and expanding the traffic awareness
He said that the Council of Ministers has underscored the importance of implementing this safety traffic strategy and appreciated the efforts being exerted by the Traffic Police
Dr. Salih indicated the Cabinet approved the draft Act of Sheikh Abdalla Al-Badri for Sciences and Technology
He added that the Council of Ministers welcomed the initiatives of the civil society in boosting the education in Sudan
