Bashir
: Development cannot be achieved without capacity building and administrative
reform
Khartoum, April 4 (SUNA) - The President of the Republic,
Field Marshal Omar Al Bashir has reaffirmed that an envisaged comprehensive
progress could not be achieved without effecting, parallely, a human capacity
building and an inclusive administrative reform within the state apparatus
Addressing the opening sitting of the Third Parliament Session, Monday ,
President Bashir has stressed that the government has made wide strides in the
domain of education, upgrading curriculums and linking the states,
electronically, with the centre and increasing the number of general education
institutions a matter that increases students intake in the schools
The President has stressed that the government has at the same time
doubled its efforts on training teachers and improving the school environment
Bashir told legislators on Monday that in the higher education sector,
his government has ratified a number of decrees and legislations that allow for
the establishment of five new universities, including Bahari University which is
to absorb northern Sudanese students studying in southern Sudan universities
He said as a result of the current information revolution that spread
allover the country, the number of mobile subscribers has reached a record of
seventeen million persons, thus helping with the economic activities in the
productive sectors, namely the animal and agriculture sectors
In health domain, the President said due attention was given to alleviate
the burden of medial treatment on private individuals, specifically in the
emergency services in the hospitals and in provision of assistance for poor
families
The President said efforts were also exerted to provide clean drinking
water in the rural areas with special emphasis on north Kordufan, north and
south Darfur, the Blue Nile and the White Nile states
