Al-Degair briefs Norwegian Ambassador on Arrangements for Holding International Cooperation Conference in next January
Khartoum, Dec. 6 (SUNA)- The Minister of International Cooperation, Dr. Jalal YousifAl-Degair, has acquainted the Ambassador of Norway to Sudan with arrangements being made for holding the International Cooperation Conference in Khartoum at beginning of next January, which comes as part of the ministry's efforts to formulate the foreign aid policies and re-organizing the international cooperation mechanisms
This came when the minister met Monday the Norwegian Ambassador to Khartoum
The meeting reviewed aspects of bilateral cooperation between Sudan and Norway and ways of boosting them further as well as the role being carried out by the Norwegian Development Cooperation Agency in implementation of development projects in Sudan, especially in the economic development and food security domains
Al-Degair praised the efforts exerted by Norway after the signing of the Comprehensive Peace Agreement (CPA), referring to role expected to be played by the Ambassador in the coming period to push forward the bilateral relations and encourage the Norwegian companies and businessmen to come and invest in Sudan
It is to be noted that Norway has funded a number of projects in Sudan at the domains of resettlement of returnees, rural development, river transport, and service by around 96 million dollars
