Arab - Sino Cooperation Forum concludes sittings, emphasizes the need to strengthen further the cooperation
Khartoum, Jan. 28 (SUNA) - The Arab - Sino Cooperation Forum in the field of Energy Thursday concluded its second session at the Friendship Hall in Khartoum by signing of a memorandum of understanding between the Arab party and the National Energy Authority of the People's Republic of China on the mechanism of cooperation between the two parties in the field of energy. A statement issued at the conclusion of the forum has stressed the importance of following up the implementation of the mechanism, underlined the dynamic role being played by the energy sector in achieving sustainable development and the Millennium Development Goals, besides the need to promote the cooperation between Arab countries and China in all fields of energy (oil, natural gas, electricity, renewable energies, energy efficiency, nuclear energy for peaceful purposes and the exchange of experiences and transfer of technology towards the realization of the desired objectives. The statement urged the private sector and finance institutions at both sides to support the mechanism of Arab - Sino Cooperation in the field of energy. The two parties agreed to hold the third session of the Arab - Sino Cooperation Forum in year 2012 in the People's Republic of China, as the final statement referred to the role being played by China in support of the Arab - Chinese cooperation in various fields, which was strengthened by the establishment of China - Arab Cooperation Forum.
