British Activist Seized by Government Security Forces on Return to
Khartoum
This morning at 9.30 am, Sudanese security personnel seized Ahmed Mohamed Ahmed from his father’s home in Masna, near
Halfa
,
Sudan
. Failing to give any reason for his detention, the security forces removed him and took him to Kassala jail where he is in detention.
Mr Ahmed is a British citizen from
Camden
,
London
who returned to
Sudan
to visit relatives. He has been active with regard to
Darfur
advocacy and is a member of the Fur tribe. This center fears for his safety and calls on the Sudanese government to release him immediately
