Sudan plans second meeting on Darfur crisis
APA-Cairo (Egypt) Dr. Nafie Ali Nafie, the special assistant to Sudanese President Omar Hassan al-Bashir, has announced in Cairo that a second meeting of the forum "initiative of the people of Sudan", will be held this week in Khartoum.
Among other things, the meeting will seek to complete the discussion of how to address the Darfur crisis where the humanitarian situation still remains alarming.
In a joint conference Saturday with Secretary General of the Arab League Amr Moussa, Nafie said that the seven committees of the forum have completed discussing the issues adressed on the initiative.
He downplayed indictment of the International Criminal Court against President Bashir, say the cout has no mandate on Sudan.
The Sudanse leader was indicted by the ICC several months ago for his involvement in the massive killing and suffering of the people of Darfur cause by the attacks of the Janjaweed faction alleged supported by Sudan.
