National Assembly, Council of States to be on call to approve any laws
Khartoum, Dec. 21 (SUNA) - The Speaker of the National Legislature, Ahmed Ibrahim Al-Tahir, discussed with the committee of the affairs of the Council of States the experience of the Council of States as well as means of boosting coordination between the National Assembly and the Council of States at various issues including the approval of laws. Al-Tahir affirmed that the current session of the two councils (the National Assembly and Council of States) will end as scheduled by the end of current month, explaining that the two councils will be on call in any moment to approve any laws as agreed upon. Meanwhile, the Speaker of the National Legislature, Ahmed Ibrahim Al-Tahir, explained that determining the date for the elections is to be taken by the National Elections Commission. He further called on the national political forces to get ready for the elections and to reach consensus over the laws so that they would be approved by the Assembly. MF/ BT
