This short short is based on my poem "An Arresting Feeling"; it is the very basic pilot of the full version which is more elaborated and script- driven. this version is filmed entirely on a mobile cam; the footages went through lots of colour correcting(stroke distorting) and motion effects in Final Cut Pro.
my voice was also recorded using the mobile; I later used some sound altering effects, added music loops and sound fxs from the copyrights free Apple Loops and mixed-down the whole thing in Soundtrack... main Sound effects and tracks used: Electronic club dance beat and Orchestral string section 75 I had helping hands from fellow filmmakers Mahmoud Mushatat & Ed Kerr who filmed the shots I appear in; I could have done this with an actor other than myself if it wasn't for the "no-budget budget" I managed to raise, mainly a London Bus-Pass It was fun though Here is the written poem
"An Arresting feeling"
I might be waiting for the bus
Heading towards camden town, being and looking rather quiet yet anxious and edgy, calm and furious, yet sad and saintly-crazed and dubious all at once, as I usually be when I dream of movies I could've featured in... (Yes I'm an actor! I'm a mask contractor My whole take in life is rather queer)
I might be waiting for the bus, The world is soaked in rains and tears and melodramas The stage is set, and I for one Is seen by no on-lookers Observed by no observers But the cool and cold, but the red and the bold But the sick and the sickening Eye of the method actor
(I don't usually feel offended by my "insignificant-ness" by not being seen for reason of colour, not mist or fog And I don't really get engaged in self/observing acts of living unless provoked )
I might be waiting for the bus, as I get immersed in this immediate feeling this "arresting feeling", "stop and search your soul" kind of feeling... And it's not an actor, playing me It's not a character -- enacted me

جنون لذيذ يافردة، انه اليومي الذي يتلصص على البني ادم هناك وسط غابة الزحام والبلاط والكلاب الضالة والشرطي والنص الشعري الهارب، والمتفرجين في فيك، او من اي كوكب جيتن جيت؟؟ عمل ومضة عابرة وبصمة معبرة، ونسمة وسط كتاحة بنو الاصفر، واصل النحت حتما وصلت الرسالة، ارقد مبدع، (خارج النص رقم تلفونك طشا مني).

والله فاكرك كفنان، عملتا حاجة من وحي المطاردة للابرياء في شوارع كيغالي الخرطومية، او المنظر البدمي القلب، لاطفال المحارق او المجاري، البسحلو في حر الهجير، مكتفين، او بصرخو بي صورة تخلي الواحد يغمي عليه!

سلام وشكراً على الحضور يا فرده Bashasha, honestly, reading you closely in the last few weeks, I really had the disturbing impression that maybe you just don’t take yourself (and what you write) seriously at all; the result, of course, is that I won’t be able to take you seriously either…and that, ya Bashasha, is very, very worrying for your dear deader
Nice one!! I like the answer "black African" for the no-question-asked attitude of the Yard man who would rather check if someone have a ticket or not, and attract an on-the-spot fine rather than the endless form-filling that may result from the "identity" question!! x
