عقود طويلة مضت كان ينظر فيها إلى هيئة الإذاعة البريطانية باللغة العربية كمنبر موازن ومنصة إعلامية رائدة تدعي الوقوف على مسافة واحدة من الجميع متمسكة بشعرة معاوية بين المهنية والتوجه السياسي لكن دوام الحال من المحال إذ يرى مراقبون للشأن الإعلامي العربي اليوم أن هذه المنصة العريقة قد تخلت عن ريادتها وتنازلت عن استقلاليتها لتتحول إلى ما يشبه مقطورة يجرها الإعلام الإقليمي وتحديدا الإعلام المصري يوجهها أينما شاء وكيفما اقتضت مصالحه ومصالح حلفائه
تبعية الخطاب وتوجيه البوصلة
لم يعد خافيا على المتابع الحصيف حجم التماهي والانسجام بين الأجندة الإعلامية المصرية والخطاب التحريري لبي بي سي العربية هذا التراجع لم يكن وليد الصدفة بل جاء نتاج تداخلات وتشابكات جيوسياسية جعلت من المنصة البريطانية صدى للرواية الرسمية القادمة من القاهرة وبدلا من تقصي الحقائق والاعتماد على مصادر ميدانية مستقلة أصبحت القناة تتبنى القوالب الجاهزة التي يصيغها الإعلام المصري لتسويق رؤية أحادية الجانب تجاه الأزمات المعقدة في المنطقة
الملف السوداني الفاشر والأبيض كشاهد عيان
يتجلى هذا التحول الصادم بشكل صارخ في التغطية الإعلامية للحرب الدائرة في السودان ففي الوقت الذي يمر فيه الشعب السوداني بمأساة إنسانية غير مسبوقة اختارت بي بي سي العربية الانخراط في الحملات الإعلامية الموجهة التي تقودها مصر لدعم طرف ضد آخر
وخلال الأحداث الدامية والمعارك المستعرة في مدينتي الفاشر والأبيض سقطت الأقنعة المهنية حيث تبنت القناة بالكامل السردية التي تخدم مراكز القوى التي تدعمها القاهرة وصورت الصراع من منظور ضيق يغفل الانتهاكات والتعقيدات على الأرض ويضفي الشرعية على تحركات عسكرية محددة متجاهلة الأثر الكارثي لتلك الحملات الموجهة على المدنيين العزل
سقوط المهنية في فخ الأجندات
إن تحول منصة بحجم بي بي سي العربية إلى أداة تخدم التوجهات الإقليمية ومحورا إعلاميا معينا في ملف حساس كالملف السوداني لا يمثل سقطة مهنية فحسب بل هو طعنة في خاصرة الوعي العربي الذي وثق يوما بهنا لندن
لقد تخلت المنصة عن إرثها لتصبح مجرد أداة تابعة تفتقر لجرأة الطرح واستقلالية الموقف تاركة الميدان للبروباغندا السياسية ومساهمة بقصد أو بدون قصد في تأجيج الصراع السوداني بدلا من كشف الحقائق وتقديم تغطية متوازنة تخدم الحقيقة والإنسانية

​The platform has abandoned its legacy to become a mere subordinate tool lacking the courage of presentation and independence of stance It has left the field to political propaganda contributing intentionally or otherwise to fueling the Sudanese conflict instead of uncovering facts and providing balanced coverage that serves truth and humanity
