Instead of opening a much-needed new chapter to reconcile with its hard –up people , the Sudan fascist regime pressed ahead with its unilateral elections only to receive what analysts and observers described to be a humiliating defeat. Because the Sudanese people who were offended by the regime's insistence to conduct yet another meaningless elections boycotted by the whole population of Sudan who ,either got on with their businesses or stayed indoors, refusing to take part in tailored elections in which even the pro-regime subservient parties stood zero chances of winning? For instance in port Sudan ,where I live, the turnout was pretty embarrassing to the extent that a constituency numbering 8000 voters and in which the most- likely-to-win candidate was the deputy governor of the red sea state.. only his family members ,understandably, voted for him ( 13 votes only out of 8000?)in another constituency tear gas flared because uniformed police men were caught voting for the ruling tyranny's candidate.. .in that same polling center the police officer overseeing the irregularities and consenting to them was dealt a slap in the face by the anti-regime candidate . while in remote Darfur a vehicle belonging to the elections commission was commandeered by the rebels with all its contents. Similarly incidents of governmental car-jacking were reported in south kordofan? Elsewhere the chronicles of events in almost all polling centers allover Sudan were more or less the same with minor variations .which suggest that the huge efforts exerted by the tyranny to have premeditated elections in place went bust. Interestingly, even members of the regime became spectators instead of participators and mocked the elections, joining the chorus of critics? Funnier yet was the regime's turning to the in-mates of prisons and booby hatches as a last resort in its vivid search for casting votes . those hapless groups were bribed by a nutritious meal of meat-for this once only- in place of the single meal per day consisting of salt and totally unfit for human consumption bread, which they normally subsist on ? on the whole the lessons learned from the fiasco experiment were indicative of an isolated ,shaky and out –of-touch minority regime which only needed concerted efforts more and more to collapse. Furthermore , the process confirmed that working with/among the masses –inside Sudan- proved vital, which we should build on , bet on, activate and maximize, instead of the hit-and-run confrontations in peripheral fronts which gives the regime justification for aerial bombardments that victimize vulnerable and destitute villagers living in thatch-roofed huts and cottages?. Of course, and after the soon- to- be- announced victory of the indicted general, the cornered and perfectly isolated tyranny is expected ,usual as always, to make generous promises of a broad-based national unity government ,to throw dust in our eyes,..in which case we should remain vigilant and deprive the dying regime from making terms and dragging us to its playground to play by its rules. We should rather insist on a broad-front interim government inclusive, representative and reflective of all the Sudanese rainbow mosaic . let us not forget the countless bogus agreements which fell sideways ,and which the regime was signing to buy time, take breath and relieve itself, momentarily, of pressures put on it. Finally our greetings go to the man who helped us score this victory without whose help we wouldn’t have- otherwise- achieved … dr. mukhtar alassum…the head of Sudan elections commission, the fearful liar and the unscrupulous intellectual with the dyed fuzzy hair…sir it is all over and your shame-laden elections turned up to be a filthy hoax and a recipe of failure, you led your masters on a road leading to nowhere ,and your hit-or-miss elections were ill-received by those you took for fools…on the reverse ,they smartly undermined your elections of any degree of integrity..worse yet, you went down in the history of the nation as a matchless and despicable betrayer devoid of any human values, but only mad of money which seems to be the only worthy object in your miserable life……eternal shame on you .
