“Dedicate your life to a cause greater than yourself, and your life will become a glorious romance and adventure.” Mack Douglas.
If you think I’m obsessed with Mr. Salva Kiir Mayardit, the disgraced President of the republic of South Sudan, you might be right. I truly believe that one good journalist can change the world. What this incogitant communist Kiir is doing with our Country is reprehensible. His failure to use his unique perspective to unite the nation is something that, no good journalist can just pretends to be silent about it, or be neutral about it, unless he or she is an incognizant reprobated human being of his stature.
Bluntly stated, those of you who hope the tyrant will finally come to his senses will be pretty much disappointed. Kiir, as very many of you know has programmatically decided not to seek a way out of his own created logjam, which is crippling down the country, and tearing the nation apart. Instead, he is persistently pouring all the blame on the USA, UNMISS, the Journalists, the Church leaders and most of all, Dr. Riek Machar Teny, Chairman and Commander-in- Chief of the Sudan Peoples Liberation Movement/Army-in- Opposition.
Additionally, Mr. Michael Makuei, an accomplished liar, and the regime’s voice, is clearly not ready to begin governing and stop throwing tantrum at the opposition parties, the USA, the UNMISS, and the Church organizations, who are just trying tirelessly, to prevent the young nation from slipping into a full-blown coma!
Evidently, the spokesman doesn’t think before he spreads his venom! In a resent round of yet another outburst, Makuei inflicted an irreparable damage to an already tarnished relations with our strongest allies: “USA is acting like a rebel. The UNMISS is acting like a rebel. The Churches are acting like rebels….”
Ironically, Mr. Michael Makuei’s actions resemble those of Sadam Hussein’s former information minister, Muhammad Saied al-Sahaf (Baghdad Bob), who was still licking Sadam’s boots even when the whole of Baghdad had already fallen into the hands of the American soldiers.
“The Americans are going to surrender, or be burned in their tanks. They will surrender; it is they who will surrender,” he said. A few moments afterwards, he was under the mercy of the Americans.
Amazingly, the regime, which clearly knows all full well that, it has a zero chance to win the war against the an incombustible, an invincible, much organized and a more determinative movement, the SPLM/A-in-Opposition, is not serious about making drastic steps necessary to boost the peace process. You do not have to be the smartest person in the world to figure out that, desperate times call for desperate measures. Instead, the regime is interested only in #####ng the nation’s wealth, and slaughtering anyone and everyone, who dares stands in its way.
Elsewhere, the SPLM/A-in-Opposition, is increasingly gaining momentum, diplomatically, politically and in the battle fields, despite the Ugandan mighty occupation power. It’s no longer a secret that the movement also is enjoying the respect and the recognition by the international community, except, of course, for the occupying Ugandan dictator, Yoweri Museveni. In just a matter days, its leader, Dr. Machar is due in the capital of Kiir’s closest ally, Sudan, among other countries in the region.
Does it get any more complicated then that?
Meanwhile, Dr. Barnaba Marial Benjamin, the regime’s timid Minister of Foreign Affairs (who will soon be a fair game of criticism by this writer) continues wasting the nation’s resources in trying to sell the alleged coup d’état, which- we all know- the entire world community had rejected it all along from the very beginning!!
Finally, a friendly gesture: if anything, this regime needs an exit strategy, and it needs it now, or it will risk facing it off with the most determined South Sudan’s forces for true change, justice, equality and democracy for all. By then, it won’t be pretty, am afraid.
But, don’t take it from me; take it from Mua’amar al- Gadafi.
