In the aftermath of the attempted coup, SPLM leadership needs a national consensus led by USA.

A heavy gunfire broke out in south Sudan capital juba between the presidential guards who belong to Nuer tribe , and those who belong to Dinka tribe . this was the most fatal gunfire in the aftermath of south Sudan secession . Salva Kiir , the president of south Sudan government , the commander of SPLA -SPLM pointed his fingers of accusation to his top sacked officials , Pagan Amum and his ex-vice president Riack Mashar of hatching scheme of overthrowing the regime and creating some sort of popular commotion with the objectives of angling for some kind of top POSITIONS in the regime and most coveted military jobs inside SPLA -SPLM . Nuer military and civilian leaders are trying to get a hold of most influential positions in side the government , after they felt that they have been betrayed !. But the worst scenario is the fate of those who involved in the coup attempt , would they be executed militarily ??? or be incarcerated ??!! or be tried by court-martial ??????????????these are big questions !!!
These are unfortunate events which transpired in a very critical time , while the fledgling state is building its ceiling , with the commencement of reforming constitutional institutions . president Salva Kiir was very upset he expressed his angriness , but at the same time he displayed his patience and declined to release the details of the attempted coup operation , confirming that his leadership will arrest every one implicated in this operation . He ordered the security and military commanders to execute the order of imposing curfew in southern capital JUBA city at night from 6 pm to 6 am ( from dusk till dawn) . since its independence and secession southern Sudan state was haunted by the fierce divisions and political turmoil amid some accusations of corruption and money plundering , the ruling regime accused a group of top officials in SPLM leadership of plundering huge amount of monies for their own accounts , example was Pagan Amum , who , according to some press article was involved in plundering millions of US dollars from the general fund of the government ! all these events culminated in the existence of political injection , that led Salva Kiir to render his decision to sack Pagan from the membership of SPLM leadership . I think that the situations in south Sudan could degenerate amid the absence of national consensus and national accord , because the situations are now filtered through the prism of the national accord which is considered as necessary to attain a unified objective among southern Sudanese people . what is required now is the conspicuous intervention of the United States of America to engage with opposition elements inside SPLM leadership so as to convene a comprehensive conference involving the military and civilian leaders to underscore the core solutions among all government leaders . SPLA leadership was swift in containing such political turmoil , and this indicates the full organization of the military . I feel that the root causes of these events are based on tribal backgrounds rather than the differences in their points of view . because most of the Nuer leaders in SPLM leadership think that the system of ruling in south Sudan is similar to dictatorship , and hoarding of power , they think that SPLM is no longer in a unified position to take unilateral actions without involving all the political leaders . But such claims can not justify the use of force or weapons . Such demands and protests would have been amicably and swiftly solved through the prism of national dialogue , if the opposition figures had adopted diplomatic approaches rather than resorting to carry weapons to achieve their own objectives …
What is required now is a national consensus and holistic approach in addition to the political rapprochement among the southern leaders . this national consensus must be initiated by USA to take the lead of convening a national dialogue without ambivalence and delay . But the leadership of SILVA KIIR has its own choice , either to hold all those involved in the attempted coup operation accountable , or to pardon them , this depends on the magnitude of the operation and its repercussions on the stability of southern Sudan . The accountability process is executed by resorting to civilian prosecutions or prosecutions by courts-martial , since there are military and civilian personnel involved in the foiled coup attempt .
Attacking SPLA barracks was a grave mistake , because it is a clear aggression against the whole state .
