Doha, June 16 (SUNA) - The Ambassador of the State of Qatar to Sudan, Rashid bin Abdalla Al-Nuaimi, has welcomed the visit of the President of the Republic to the State of Qatar, appreciating the distinguished relations between the two sister countries and the continuous contacts between the Emir of Qatar, Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al-Thani, and President Omer Al-Bashir, and their keenness to consolidate further the bilateral relations.
In a statement to SUNA, Ambassador Al-Nuaimi said that the relations between Sudan and Qatar witnessed adoption of great steps for cementing the bilateral ties and the cooperation in the political, economic, cultural and the humanitarian work fields, thanks to the concern of the leaders of the two countries.
The ambassador has referred to the continuous exchange of visits between the officials in the two countries for boosting the cooperation between Sudan and Qatar in different fields.
He said that Sudan and Qatar are sharing identical stances concerning the various regional and issues, referring to the mutual support between the two countries at the regional and international forums.
The Qatari Ambassador has reiterated the concern of his country with the issue of support to the peace, stability and development in Sudan, based on the distinguished relations between the two countries.
He pointed to the Qatari mediation for solving Darfur issue which has received positive response from Sudan government and the parties that have signed the Doha Document for Peace in Darfur.
He also referred to the participation of many countries and international and regional organizations in the committee for following up the implementation of the Doha Document for Peace in Darfur and inclusion of this peace agreement in Sudan Constitution.
The Qatari ambassador has referred to the strong economic relations between Sudan and Qatar and the establishment of several joint projects and investments in Sudan in the agricultural, animal wealth, mining, banking, estate development and antiquities fields.
He pointed to the role being played by the Qatari organizations and societies through their offices in Sudan for implementing development, services and humanitarian projects, a matter that led to consolidating the bilateral relations.
