For the second year, the Europe Weeks festival takes place in Khartoum during the whole month of May. The Weeks will include a series of events organized by the Embassies of the Member States of the European Union and the Delegation of the European Union that reflects the European values of unity in diversity. This year France, Germany, Italy and the European Union have prepared a series of events.

An Italian Cuisine Program by the Italian Embassy is bringing a renowned Italian chef who will prepare Italian dishes in more than twenty restaurants around Khartoum. In addition, cooking classes will be organized for Sudanese audience.

The Delegation of the European Union will organize a reception to celebrate Europe Day. The event will be attended by Sudanese and International guests. During the event, the European Union will sign two agreements of combined worth 6 million Euros. The two development projects aim at improving the natural resources management in Darfur and Kordofan by FAO and UNEP.

Moreover, a joint Jazz concert will be organized by the Goethe Institut and the Institut Francais at the National Theatre in Omdurman. The performers will also hold a joint workshop with Sudanese musicians.

In view of the World Press Freedom Day, a few dedicated events will discuss press freedoms and the role of women and youth in media.

The Delegation of the European Union announced that the Europe Weeks shows the diversity of programs implemented by the different embassies of the Member States with their local and international partners to the Sudanese audience. The Europe Weeks objective is to strengthen people to people contacts with Sudan and promote diversity of the European Union countries.
