Five people were killed in a tribal clash in Yassin locality, East Darfur, on Thursday.andnbsp;Following a deadly RPG attack this week, the Governor decided to deploy more troops to curb the violence.

The clashes erupted when herders of the Mahadi tribe entered their livestock on the farms of Birgid tribesmen in the area of Matuk. More details are currently unavailable.

The Governor of East Darfur, Anas Omer, has announced the deployment of more troops to combat criminals, as part of more security measures in the state.

His announcement follows an incident on Tuesday. Unidentified gunmen fired rocket-propelled grenades at a residence of the National Intelligence and Security Service (NISS) in East Darfur. It missed its target and killed a woman and injured a man and five students upon exploding.

Governor Omer told Sudan Media Center this week that anyone who is found guilty of committing crimes that affect the security and stability of the citizens, will be dealt with by the emergency law in East Darfur.
