Khartoum, April 4 (SUNA) - The Minister of Investment and Head of the Sudanese Party at the Higher Committee for the Sudanese-Qatari Archaeological Project Dr. Mudathir Abdul-Ghani Abdul-Rahman has reiterated Sudan's commitment to providing all possibilities for the success of the project, which he described as in addition to the tourism sector in the country as well as its role in keeping the Sudanese antiquities.
The minister discussed, during a meeting on the sidelines of his visit to Qatar these days, with the Adviser of Sheikha Mayassa bint Hamad bin Khalifa Al-Thani and the Chief Executive Officer of the Qatari Museums Corporation Mansur Al Mahmoud, the progress of work at the project and the performance of 40 archaeological missions operating in Sudan.
It was agreed, during the meeting, on holding of the Higher Committee for the Sudanese-Qatari Project at mid-May.
Meanwhile, the Minister of Investment met with the Chairman and Managing Director of the Qatar Retaj Group Mohamed Johar where he was briefed on the outcome of the final visit of the delegation to Sudan, which came in order to discuss investment opportunities in the field of real estates and hotel tourism.
A film show was demonstrated on the Retaj group project, which plans to implement it on the shores of the Red Sea, where the minister gave a detailed explanation on the opportunities and advantages of investing in the country, the Investment Encouragement Act and the Sudan huge capabilities in the field of public services and hotel tourism, stressing his ministry keenness and encouragement to such investments of the strategic economic dimension.
