Khartoum, Feb 13 (SUNA)-Chairman of the recent splinter group from the Sudan Liberation Army SLA, Noor Eddin Mohamed Adam Zourgi, said they reached and signed a peace deal with the government in north Darfur because they have reached conclusion that war leads only to destruction and havoc on people's properties and interests.
He told a Sudan news agency SUNA forum on Saturday that they were convinced by the commitment made within the initiative of the president of the republic, Omar Al Bashir and his bold commitment to the outcome of the national dialogue, saying the step would have some positive impact on the overall situation in Darfur.
He described the initiative as wise and courageous and that he expects it to have positive impact on the stability of the country as a whole.
He said they have been closely monitoring the process without joining it, however after being fully convinced about the credibility and seriousness of the process, they sat for negotiation and reached an agreement upon which they become part of the process.
Zouorgi appealed to all those who have not jointed the process yet to opt for peace and to observe the interests of the people of Darfur and the Sudan in general, expressing his confidence that the commitment and pledge made by the president is a guarantee the outcome of the national dialogue would be implemented.
