Um-Dabaker, Feb.4(SUNA)-President of the Republic, Field Marshal Omer Al-Bashir has reiterated the State concern with implementation of developmental projects in all states of Sudan, disclosing that the inauguration of Um-Dabaker Power Station is considered an important achievement in progress of development in the Country.
Speaking in sitting of the Federal Council of Ministers at Um-Dabaker , Thursday, President Al-Bashir said the Station produces 500 megawatts that will meet the growing demands for electricity, besides supporting the agricultural and industrial production.
He added the Thermal Station would support the State strategy set to electrify the agricultural schemes.
President of the Republic explained that Um-Dabaker Power Plant is a fruit of distinguished cooperation with India, which established the Station.
He said the State strategy is to link all parts of the Country with the national grid, explaining that the second phase of Um-Dabaker Station will produce 750 megawatts.
President Al-Bashir said the convocation of the Federal Council of Ministers in the White Nile State came as an honor to the State for its contributions to the national economy and realization of food security in the Sudan and Arab World.
President Al-Bashir, meanwhile, renewed Sudan keenness to widen horizons of cooperation with the State of South Sudan, referring to decision he issued recently on opening borders with the South Sudan.
