Khartoum, Nov. 15 (SUNA) - President of the Republic, Field Marshal Omer Al-Bashir, has affirmed the state keenness to support the agricultural sector and realization of food security.
This came when he received Sunday in his office at the Guest House the Minister of Agriculture, Prof. Ibrahim Al-Dekhairi.
In a press statement to SUNA, the minister said that he informed the President of the Republic on package of decisions that were adopted by the Ministry of Agriculture for boosting forests' growing.
He disclosed that a national campaign, led by the President of the Republic will be launched for protection of forests and cultivation of forests.
He indicated that he also informed the President of the Republic on the plan of the ministry for enhancing the agricultural sector, introduction of modern technology, capacity building, data collection and resources' management.
The minister said that the private sector will play a key role for agricultural development in the country.
He added that the meeting also touched on means for implementing the decisions of the President of the Republic on the banning of deforestation and preserving the forests resources.
