Sudan’s president, Omer Al-Bashir, has received a congratulatory cable from the Russian president Vladimir Butin in which the latter congratulated Al-Bashir on his victory of a new term of office in the presidential elections. In the cable, according to Sudan News Agency (SUNA) on Friday, The Russian president expressed his congratulations and hopes of success for president al Bashir in next phase, stressing his keenness to promote the relations of friendship and cooperation between the two countries in all domains. Al-Bashir won re-election with 94% of the vote this month, according to official results released on Monday, extending his 25-year rule despite international war crimes charges and multiple insurgencies. The oil-rich South Sudan seceded in 2011.
