Sudan’s Foreign Ministry has briefed the European Union (EU) and the United States on the general elections and the national dialogue.
Acting Undersecretary in Foreign Ministry, Ambassador Dafalla Al Haj Ali, told the representatives of AU and U.S on Sunday that the national dialogue represents the strategy of the State and it will continue after the elections, adding that the invitation is open to everyone to participate without preconditions.
Sudanese diplomat pointed to the lack of coordination regarding the last preparatory meeting held in Addis Ababa previous month, noting that his government had received the invitation only before three days, adding that the agenda was not clear.
Ali stressed that the principles of the national dialog is Sudanese initiative, emphasizing that the elections will not hamper the national dialogue but its a constitutional entitlement is exercised by Sudanese people every five years
Sudanese ambassador called on the international community to support the country to promote the climate of stability in Sudan, stressing Sudan’s keenness to build balanced relations with all countries, pointing out that Khartoum’s government calls for further efforts to bring peace to South Sudan, Libya and Central Africa
