Sudan’s ruling National Congress Party (NCP) said the steps of the national dialogue will accelerate after the general elections through its specific mechanisms.
Member of the NCP leadership and the deputy of the Speaker of the Parliament, Samia Ahmed Mohammed, said in statements on Sunday that the national dialogue preparatory meeting in Addis Ababa is unnecessary, pointing out that there is no logical reason to the meeting of Addis Ababa.
She added the ruling party has decided to convene the dialogue inside, emphasizing that NCP can participate in any forums but the priority for the elections
Mohammed noted that unnamed are seeking to dismantle the country's social fabric
The African Union High Implementation Panel (AUHIP) called the ruling NCP, Sudan Call forces represented by the rebel Umbrella Sudanese Revolutionary Forces (SRF) and National Umma Party (NUP) to meet in Addis Ababa to discuss the dialogue "process and the procedural matters pertaining to the national dialogue” on 29 March.
